On Sunday 9th August 2009, Visit Blackpool and West Coast Railways organised a one-way only Carnforth to Blackpool steam hauled excursion, to celebrate 'Wakes Week'. The train was hauled by LMS 'Royal Scot' 4-6-0 number 46115 Scots Guardsman, and ran via Hellifield, Blackburn and Preston, before arriving at Blackpool North.
