For one week only (24th October 2009 to 1st November 2009), the Severn Valley Railway played host to the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust's 60163 Tornado.

The headline-grabbing machine made two round trips each day during the Autumn Half Term week; Peter Hughes (of Rainhill MRC) and I made a visit on Thursday 29th October 2009, in order to get a ride.

Some of the railway's regular fleet of steam locos were out and about; GWR Manor 4-6-0 number 7812 Earlestoke Manor, Small Prarie 2-6-2 tank number 4566 and Large Prarie 2-6-2 tank number 5164, plus many more.

Also dropping in for a visit was GWR 'King' 4-6-0 number 6024 King Edward I.

Finally, resident BR Class 73 diesel/electric loco 73006 was also out in force.
